United Flags of Hamtramck – Rosie Sharp

United Nations of Hamtramck is a series of flags made from found materials within Hamtramck, and leverages flags as a signifier of territory-marking and cultural identity. It seeks to examine what points of identity we have with our surroundings and the feelings that arise when these identity markers are coalesced into collective banners.

Installed May 16 and May 17 on Carpenter at McDougall (former Greater Detroit Hospital)

Rosie Sharp is a Detroit-based activist, artist, and writer.
